Rebeca Salinas
Hi! My name is Rebeca Salinas, and I enjoy working as an Outreach Specialist because programs like ReOpp are the reason that I was able to go to college and expand the possibilities of what my future could look like. I believe that there are many ways to accomplish your goals and achieve your dreams. There is no such thing as a “one-size-fits-all” approach to life.
In college, I studied social work and developed a passion for dismantling racist and inequitable policies and practices. I have worked in many different settings such as domestic violence resource centers, alternative high schools, and I also have experience driving foster kids to court ordered visits with their families.
I have worked many different jobs, but nothing brings me more joy than my side hustle of choreographing dances for quinceañeras. It is incredibly fun to teach different styles of dance to young ones so that they can perform in front of their friends and families. I find choreographing especially fun when I get to involve my three younger siblings. They frequently step in to help me practices my dance routines and show me new moves.
